Black Rock Art Center

Black Rock Art Center in Germantown, Md. is a great place to appreciate and support works of art from local artists. Most paintings, sketches, and sculptures are displayed monthly in the centers art gallery and are available for purchase for your own personal enjoyment.

In addition to showcasing a variety of art work, Black Rock also offers classes to adults and children at a reasonable price. There are classes for beginners to the advance and the instructors there are the nicest people around. Talented in their craft, my daughter's ballet teacher was a former professional ballet dancer who dedicates her time several days a week working with girls of all ages. Other courses provided are piano and painting classes as well as jazz and hip-hop dance classes just to name a few.

Depending on the session you sign up for, some classes have special performances in the centers amphitheatre at the end of the semester. If that wasn't enough, the center also offer tickes to a wide selection of shows in music, magic, and plays by local and professional artists from across the country and around the world. Tickets are available at the Black Rock Art Centers box office and website where prices may vary.

Also, if you're ever interested in throwing a special event whether it's a birthday party, wedding reception, B'nai mitzvah, a milestone anniversary, or a sophisticated corporate event the center has space available for rental. Please contact the Black Rock's rental coordinator at 240-912-1052 or rentals@blackrockcenter.org to reserve your event.

For additional information, please check out Black Rock's calendar for list of shows or at their website at, www.blackrockcenter.org. You can also sign up through this website for notification of show openings etc.
